Diagnose My Car 1991 LINCOLN TOWN CAR?
The fuse to the charging system is the first thing I'd look at. When they blow out in a ford (lincoln is a ford product) the engine will quit and the battery will poop out right away. A strong battery will come back after a rest, but it isn't being charged. There's a chance your alternator is good if that fuse is shot. I'd replace it with a 15 amp. Ford has been using 5 amp fuses there, and making a ton of money on this problem at the shop. You might have a hard time finding that charging system fuse under the dash. Look in Chiltons to see where it is in the 91 lincoln.
