For all you diehard republican supporters. How do you feel about fascism?

I was listening to Cheney's speech. I started thinking about the previous 8 years and how a person was not considered a patriot if you did not support the administration. I thought of the patriot act which gave the US government powers we once criticized the KGB of using. I realized that Cheney's view that the security of the state is far more important than liberty, freedom, and all those things I read about in the federalist papers and the things that our forefathers fought for like jury trials. I wondered what happened in this country, a nation that did not believe in torture, and in fact has been prosecuting others for water-boarding since WWII. If the Democrats are now the Democrat Socialist Party, has the Republican Party now turned into The Republican Fascist Party? I don't believe that Nixon, Barry Goldwater, Reagan would have supported these current Republican ideas and policies of the previous administration.
