When an animagus transforms, do their clothes transform with them?

There was quite a bit of debate about this when the idea was first introduced. I think it's pretty clear that their clothing does transform with them - movie!PoA notwithstanding - otherwise surely Rowling would have described the pile of clothing left behind, or that the Trio brought Sirius a cloak or something. Also, it is clear that McGonagall's gles transform into the spectacle markings around her feline eyes. As for any items they are carrying, Rowling confirmed in an interview that their wands, at least, do not transform. Hence Wormtail's proof of his devotion in having carried Voldemort's wand to him all the way in Albania.
